Soft materials are known to exhibit diverse functionalities derived from their complex hierarchical structures. In our laboratory, we focus on polymer materials and nanocarbon materials, which are characterized by their softness. By precisely controlling the hierarchy of their structures and dynamics, we aim to achieve a dramatic improvement in their properties and create novel functionalities.
Additionally, we actively utilize the unique properties of soft materials to develop energy-harvesting devices that convert vibrations and heat into electrical energy, as well as innovative sensor systems. Through these efforts, we are advancing research that contributes to the realization of an ultra-smart society.
